Rower Joan Poh was the first Team Singapore athlete to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Games this morning. The Olympic debutant is a member of the Singapore contingent. This year, we have sent a sizeable contingent, with 12 sports represented - our highest number ever! I’m proud of all our athletes giving their best in Tokyo, despite the challenges in the run-up to it.

Our athletes have trained very hard in the lead up to the games. Let’s give them our full support! You can write your words of encouragement and get the schedule of our athletes competing here: https://go.gov.sg/6nulis

The opening ceremony of the Games will be shown live on Channel 5 at 7pm tonight. When you see our national flag bearers appear with our contingent, do clap and cheer for them!

To all our athletes competing at the Olympics and Paralympic Games, all the best and good luck at the Games. Give it your all, and keep flying the Singapore flag high. 🇸🇬 We are with you all the way! – LHL

On this page I talk about the things I’m doing and thinking about, but I would also like to hear from you, about what we can do together for Singapore.
